The 2022 NBA Champions Betting Favourites

So, let’s take a close look at those who are the favourites to walk away with the NBA Championship title this year.

Phoenix Suns

The Suns have, quite easily, been the best team in the entire league this season. They ended the regular season with an astonishing 64-18 record. This is one of their best in history.

The squad boasts players such as Booker, Bridges, Paul and Ayton, so they have all the ingredients of a team that is very capable of taking the step that they failed to do last season. Winning the title.

There is no doubt that they have learned some hard lessons from the last finals, where they threw away a 2-0 lead over the Bucks, in a highly dramatic fashion. We do not doubt that they are still chewing over that sour taste.

The team has struggled against the Pelicans so far in the Playoffs, so their odds have risen, which might mean it’s a good idea to get your money down on them now. However, despite this loss and an injury to Booker, they are still great. They will no doubt get back on their feet.

Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors didn’t have the most mind-blowing regular season this year, finishing third, despite taking the lead all the way up until Christmas, when their form took a dramatic drop.

Although they finished as the third-seed, they have still looked reasonably comfortable in their playoff matches against the Denver Nuggets… taking the first few games fairly easily.

With players such as Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole, they have shown themselves to be very strong, especially this fearsome trio so far in the postseason. Their closing five also look to be one of the best out there at this time.

Because of their top form in the postseason, you will need to get bets in sooner rather than later as their odds will keep dropping, so speed is of the essence if you’re betting on the Warriors.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks seemed to come out of nowhere in the 2020-21 season… going all the way to win their first NBA Championship title in 50 years after defeating the Suns in the NBA Finals.

Last season, players such as Khris Middleton and Jude Holiday really proved their worth. Middleton in particular proved to be a player that the squad could rely on if they were to hit sticky situations.

They were looking in fine shape to give it another good go this season, but they suffered a shock defeat in game two against the Bulls, after an injury to Khris Middleton and a fantastic performance from DeMar DeRozan.

When their big three hit the court, this is a team that is practically unstoppable. However, given that Middleton has injured his MCL, they have certainly got quite an obstacle to overcome if they want to successfully defend their title.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics have been one of the NBA top performing teams since the start of the new year. From the very beginning of 2022,  they have won almost every game they have played… and put themselves firmly in contention for the East Conference title,

Because of this, their odds in the basketball betting grid have dropped significantly, especially given their performance against the Mets so far, winning the first two games… with the second game coming off the back of a staggering comeback.

The Celtics are second seed for a reason. However, because they probably still have to face the Bucks in the semi-finals of the Eastern Conference, you can still get pretty good odds on them.

If they do want to make the finals and go all the way this season, they will need Tatum, Brown and Smart all to be on top form… a possibility given how they have played against the Nets!
