The IPL 2022 Mega Auction

Anyone that follows cricket will no doubt be well aware that this IPL season will see the introduction of two new exciting franchises being added to the league – the Lucknow Super Giants and the Gujarat Titans. It looks like it’s simply getting bigger and better for cricket fans!

However, this is just one of the changes cricket betting fans can look forward to in the upcoming season – there are also plenty of changes happening in the existing franchises as we speak – with lots of new-look formations occurring.

This is where the Mega Auction comes into it – with two days of serious action – promising major changes to kick start the new season, all taking place on 12-13 February 2022 in Bengaluru, with the event being broadcast live at 11 am IST on both days.

Over 590 players go under the hammer – including 228 capped players, 335 uncapped players and 7 players belonging to Associate Nations.

A WEEKEND OF ACTION

The first day of Tata IPL will begin at 11 am IST on 12th February. However, there has already been plenty of pre-auction activity afoot – as team owners and management heading over to Bangalore for the weekend. In total, 217 spots are up for grabs, with all teams being allowed a maximum of 8 overseas players and a maximum squad of 25 players.

PRE IPL MEGA AUCTION ACTIVITY

Followers of the IPL that have been keeping up to date with everything that has been happening will be aware that this year, the Punjab Kings team will be without the familiar presence of owner Preity Zinta, who confirmed that she won’t be able to make the auction this year – rumours also abound that Wasim Jaffer has left his position as batting coach with the Kings. Fans of the team will certainly be questioning how these two factors might affect their upcoming season performance!
