The Best Uncapped Indian Players To Look Out for in the IPL 2022

March 26th – a big day on the Indian sports calendar – the start of the IPL 2022. Cricket betting fans in India have a lot to look forward to this year as the 15th edition of the league promises more action than ever before, with the opener between CSK and KKR setting the scene.

Best Uncapped Indian Players IPL 2022

Well-seasoned players, such as Virat Kohli, will be well-versed in what to expect and will certainly be expected to perform. He already knows the pressure that comes with leading a high-profile team. However, even he is taking on a different role this season, having let go of his leadership responsibilities to play as a batter.

But what makes the IPL exciting is those players that are overlooked and underrated – the ones that don’t play on the international big stage but have potential on the domestic stage. These are the ones that can shape the league in a way that we might never have expected. Here are some of the uncapped Indian IPL players who we think might have a big impact this season.

RAHUL TRIPATHI – THE KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS

Firstly, we take a look at Rahul Tripathi. Rahul is not a youngster by any means – but, at the age of 31, he has still never played for the country – having stayed purely at the domestic level.

He was one of the great finds in 2017 IPL, stunning everyone with his skillset. He proved himself to be a top-class batsman plating for Rising Pune Supergiant – with a whole lot of flair, nimble footwork and excellent hand-eye coordination. Initially, his domestic numbers weren’t great to start with, which was why his selection raised a few eyebrows – however, he went on to play a key role in the RPS and helped them reach their first-ever IPL final.

He has now impressed everyone by getting the opportunity to play at the top of the order for the Kolkata Knight Riders. To date, up until the start of the 2022 IPL season, he has played in 62 IPL matches, having scored 1,385 runs at an astounding strike rate of 136.31. He has the potential to make a massive impact this season and we are expecting big things, so definitely one for cricket betting fans to watch out for.

RAJVARDHAN HANGARGEKAR – CHENNAI SUPER KINGS

Here we have a youngster – a player that we believe can add some youth and energy to the IPL. At just 19 years old, the right-handed batter and right-arm fast-medium bowler has been chosen by the Chennai Super Kings for Rs 1.5 crore. He impressed everyone around him after showing off an incredibly competitive and positive attitude in the Under-19 World Cup in the West Indies. This pacey player, who took 5 wickets in the World Cup, could well be in it for the long haul.

SHAHRUKH KHAN – PUNJAB KINGS

Shahrukh Khan, the 26-year-old from Chennai, is a right-handed batsman – and an occasional right-arm off-spinner. He is already well-known in the domestic arena. He didn’t have the smoothest of starts to his career and up til now, he has been up and down in form. However, he is still considered one of the most hard-hitting batters in India.

He has been selected by the Punjab Kings – who purchased him for Rs 9 crore. However, the key to how he is exposed at the country’s highest level will depend on his batting position in the tournament. He certainly has a lot of potential in the IPL. Although he has played just 11 games in the league up until now, he has scored 153 runs with a strike rate of 134.21

RAJ BAWA – PUNJAB KINGS

Raj Bawa is an Indian Cricketer that has made a name for himself by breaking the record of Indian opener, Shikhar Dhawan. In January 2022, he made a record 162 runs – the highest individual score by any Indian player in the U19 World Cup. He took nine wickets in six matches – scoring 252 runs at a very decent average of 63.

Having been born in November 2004, he is not even 18 years old yet – but is becoming known as one of the country’s most promising young all-rounders. This has been well noted by the Punjab Kings, who picked him up for Rs 2 crore.

There is certainly much to look forward to for cricket betting fans as the new season starts out. All of the teams will be looking to fulfil their potential – with just the right mix of new players and old.

The 2022 Indian Premier League is going to be a well-needed tournament for those uncapped Indian players who are desperate to live out their dreams of making it to the senior team.

In recent tournament history, there have been players – such as Venkatesh Iyer, who have been drafted into the senior league based purely on how well they perform in the IPL. The IPL is the perfect stage to showcase exactly what you can offer the senior team and it’s exciting to see how these players perform.
