He has now impressed everyone by getting the opportunity to play at the top of the order for the Kolkata Knight Riders. To date, up until the start of the 2022 IPL season, he has played in 62 IPL matches, having scored 1,385 runs at an astounding strike rate of 136.31. RAJVARDHAN HANGARGEKAR – CHENNAI SUPER KINGS

Here we have a youngster – a player that we believe can add some youth and energy to the IPL. At just 19 years old, the right-handed batter and right-arm fast-medium bowler has been chosen by the Chennai Super Kings for Rs 1.5 crore. He impressed everyone around him after showing off an incredibly competitive and positive attitude in the Under-19 World Cup in the West Indies. SHAHRUKH KHAN – PUNJAB KINGS

Shahrukh Khan, the 26-year-old from Chennai, is a right-handed batsman – and an occasional right-arm off-spinner. He is already well-known in the domestic arena. He didn’t have the smoothest of starts to his career and up til now, he has been up and down in form. However, he is still considered one of the most hard-hitting batters in India.

He has been selected by the Punjab Kings – who purchased him for Rs 9 crore. However, the key to how he is exposed at the country’s highest level will depend on his batting position in the tournament. He certainly has a lot of potential in the IPL. Although he has played just 11 games in the league up until now, he has scored 153 runs with a strike rate of 134.21

RAJ BAWA – PUNJAB KINGS

Raj Bawa is an Indian Cricketer that has made a name for himself by breaking the record of Indian opener, Shikhar Dhawan. In January 2022, he made a record 162 runs – the highest individual score by any Indian player in the U19 World Cup. He took nine wickets in six matches – scoring 252 runs at a very decent average of 63.

Having been born in November 2004, he is not even 18 years old yet – but is becoming known as one of the country’s most promising young all-rounders. This has been well noted by the Punjab Kings, who picked him up for Rs 2 crore.
